Default BostonPocketPC Reviews New Thunderhawk

http://www.bostonpocketpc.com/modul...wcontent&id=137

Anybody who has tried to view Web pages on a Pocket PC knows that the experience is usually less than perfect because most Web sites are formatted for PC monitors and not for the 320X240 Pocket PC screen. Bitstream's Thunderhawk browser has always been a very nice alternative for viewing Web pages, and BostonPocketPC has posted a review of the latest version of Thunderhawk.

"I have been using for the last 8 months with very happy results. ThunderHawk is an amazing browser from Bitstream that undertakes recreating the desktop browsing experience with great accuracy. Bitstream realized that they would have to accomplish two things to make web browsing come to life o*n the Pocket PC Platform: rendering a large screen to a small landscape screen and still be legible, and do it at a very fast speed. They have accomplished both goals admirably as working with a web site with ThunderHawk feels very similar to browsing o*n the desktop and very little is lost in the translation."

The article covers everything from installing the client software to using the on-screen keyboard to tweaking the settings. The many screenshots also help describe Thunderhawk well, and I'd recommend reading the review to anybody considering subscribing to the $49/year service. I'm still not sure if I can swallow the subscription fee, but the BostonPocketPC article has made me once again consider taking the plunge.

Yes, the same thing happened to me. I've sent a message to the site admin, so we'll see what happens.

Default ThunderHawk Download Failed

Hello,

We have received many Email this morning with regards to a problem with the downloading the zip file from Bitstream's ThunderHawk Download section.

We have resolved the problem. Feel free to download away!

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Does anyone know whether this version of Thunderhawk allows you to save files to your PPC? Previous versions did not; neither the review nor splash copy at Bitstream address it either way.

PJ,
I trialed Thunderhawk nearly a year ago on my old e740 and wasn't happy with it (or the e740 for that matter), but I now own an ipaq 2210 and would like to retrial the new version with this model of PPC. Am I able to do this?

Thanks!

The current version of ThunderHawk does indeed let you download files.
