Default Advanced Explorer 2.0

http://www.angelfire.com/realm3/alphabeta/

Alpha Beta Software has released version 2.0 of Advanced Explorer. It includes all of the basic features you'd expect from a file explorer, plus:
 Recycle Bin support
 Zip File Support
 File encryption

There is a trial version or you can buy it for $10 from Handango (affiliate link). He has guaranteed free lifetime upgrades for registered owners, so you can look forward to network support and image viewing in the coming months. It works on all Pocket PCs.

I've been using this since the free version (1.2 is still available free).

I tried Resco, which seems to be quite slow (and twice the price) compared to Advanced Explorer. When AE 2.0.0 was released it had a bug that caused it to crash when changing column views, they had a patch up in just days after it was discovered, so they do respond quickly with bug fixes. For 10 bucks and lifetime udates......you won't need another file explorer .

Default Why no drag and drop?

Why doesn't anyone support drag 'n drop for file transfer in their 'explorer' replacements? Many years ago I used StarTap that had an explorer program that did do drag 'n drop.

PocketExplorer from Citadel Development supports drag&drop. It's pretty nifty. And free, which is always nice.

I use Pocket Explorer, too. I mostly like it, although I may have found an odd bug. I have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on an SD card in my iPAQ 3870, and when I try to browse deep into the folder hierarchy (Storage Card\Adobe Acrobat Reader 1.0\Acrobat 1.0\Reader, for example), Pocket Explorer just disappears. It also does this if I just try to browse Storage Card\PublicPocketGames.com Reflect It.

The card is a SanDisk 256 MB SD card, but I just did a ScanDisk on it this past weekend. I can browse the folders just fine using either the built-in File Explorer, ActiveSync or Windows Explorer with the card in my Dazzle reader.

I'm not sure it's the memory card, either, because I copied the Reflect It folder to RAM and tried to browse that with the same results.

I just sent a note to Citadel's support about this.
