Default Adding Holidays to your Pocket PC

It's a common misconception that you need a third-party application in order to add holidays to your Pocket PC calendar. The truth is, Outlook has a huge database of world holidays, but you need to activate them into Outlook before they'll transfer over to your Pocket PC. Here's how to do that.

1. In Outlook 2000 or 2002, under the Tools menu, select Options

2. Click on the Calendar Options button. A window like this will pop up:

3. Now click on the Add Holidays button. A window like this will pop up:

4. Now check off the boxes for which holidays you'd like to add - the list is quite comprehensive. Click ok to close this window, and the other windows you opened.

5. Sync your Pocket PC, and you now have all the holidays on your device!

Note: If you have Outlook 2000, you'll want to download and install this patch that will give you holidays through 2007. Thanks to dlangton for the tip!

Just wanted to add that the holiday list for Outlook 2k only goes through 2002. To get the current year and up thru 2007, check out

As always, I am amazed by the wealth of info available on this site, this is indeed # 1
I have spent upwards of $ 20.00 for a decent holiday plug in program while the info was sitting in my desktop all this time, how embarrassing ops:

Thanks for the info. Especially dlangton's update info. I had tried the install in the past only to find that it didn't work for '03. I had never thought to look on Microsoft's site for an update. I just ended up entering in the "major" holidays when I didn't have to work by hand.
