Something Cool About Pocket PC 2003 - Month View Colors
The Month View in the 2003 Calendar app has some subtle color tweaks that makes it a bit more useful.
Sundays and holidays (items that have "Holiday" as a category) are marked with a red number now. Saturdays have a blue number. Today still has the black block around the number with the flashing red square. None of this is major, but the 2003 calendar sure looks better than the 2002 month view, which is mostly dull greys with all black numbers.
Before those of you in the US ask about all of those other red numbers, I have the Canadian holidays loaded from Outlook as well as US holidays.

speaking of holidays...how do I get them in my calendar? Is there a program that does it or do I have to go in and enter them myself?

Adding holidays
You can add your holidays by using your desktop Outlook. Go to tools/options and under the preference tab and click Calendar options. Click the Add Holidays button pick your country(ies) and you should have holidays added to your pda next time you sync. I don't think there is a way to do this in Pocket Outlook, but if anyone knows how please add your ideas.

Does anyone actually use the built in calendar anymore :?:
With such great 3rd party apps like AF, PI and a whole host of "calendar" programs - any serious PPC user will likely have some other montly view they are looking at.
But...before you start.....I know there are some out there that don't use the 3rd party stuff so this is a great tip.
I would have thought Micro$oft would have developed a little better way to see AM and PM appointments on the calendar by now. They are still using those lame little triangles which really don't tell you a whole lot.

I'm still using the built-in calendar. My life is not complicated enough to need too much more. The one thing that I'd really like to have is just the ability to show category icons (multiple icons per day) in the month view --like airplanes, hotels, etc. I don't mind paying for PI or Agenda Fusion, but they seem over-complicated for what I need, and I keep reading that they cause the PPC to slow down.
