Lifeview FlyCAM-SD, a 1.3 Megapixel SDIO Camera with Flash
"FlyCAM-SD is a PDA camera compliant with SDIO Interface. It's the first SD-camera solution in the world with Flash Light and 1.3 Mega pixels. With the FlyCAM-SD you have the ability to take snapshots and record video. It turns your PDA not only to a digital camera , but also to a Digital Camcorder. Your can immediately watch your recorded video and send it out by e-mail. Or transfer them to your desktop PC, and watch them with the Microsoft Media Player."
Check out these specs - impressive!
The frame rate of display on PDA is up to 30fps The live preview window size is from 160x120 to 320x240 ( Full screen ) Self-view / Portrait / landscape display mode Full screen display at 320x240 landscape (240X320 portrait) Realtime Video quality adjustment in Brightness, Saturation, Contrast, Hue Supports to capture still images in JPEG, BMP, and GIF formats Image size from 320x240 (240X320) to 1280x1024 (1024X1280) at true colors. Built-in flash
If this camera is even close to as good as these specs would indicate, I think I'll finally be impressed with a Pocket PC camera! I've requested a review unit from them, so I hope I can get it quickly.

Cool! If they get the pricing right, it might be the kick to get a newer device that has SDIO. (I've been trying to come up with reasons to upgrade from my Axim to a 2215)

YES! and if it does not suck the batteries dry with a flash or two, and is priced right this just might be the TOOL to have.

Good for snapshots or industrial application (can you say building inspector with PPC and flash camera? Awesome!). This has potential for all sorts of apps...
Not going to replace a mid-range digital or basic SLR with it, though.
However, with the way technology in good digital cameras is flying ahead (Pop Photo just said they finally found a digital that beat an SLR film camera) and the newer technologies (lower-power, higher MP CMOS chips), this is another market that will change quicker and quicker. GOing to be a fun next few years in this space, too! 8)
