HD Mail Page - Unattended Email Checking
A request I've frequently heard on the forums is for tips on checking email periodically in an unattended fasion, especially on a device like a Pocket PC Phone. While the Inbox applet lets you do this, it requires that you keep the device on. This little program might just fix that solution.
"HD Mail Page solves many of the shortcomings of Microsoft's built-in Inbox application and gives the user a wider range of choices for email interaction. The application uses any standard POP3 email accounts established within Inbox, but gives the user the ability to configure the Pocket PC to automatically check multiple email accounts, send email in the Outbox, and inform the user when new mail has arrived, all without any intervention from the user. In addition, it can be configured to power the Pocket PC on and off to perform the email account checks to conserve on the Pocket PC's limited power."

Well in theroy exactly what I am looking for. I am finding that it cannot connect to network.
What I am doing is this.
I have the bluetooth conection between my 5455 and my phone working fine. I have the 5455 inbox being able to dial through the bluetooth connection fine.
So all I am doing is setting up the program to use the particular Inbox service that works fine with my cell phone. I leave the bluetooth on, on the Ipaq, that way when it power up it will be out there and connect immediately with the phone.
All the program does it sit there and show the status window saying connecting to network. After about 2 min it says that it cannot connect to network.
Any help would be great.

Hollywood.
I don't think it would make a difference. You choose a Inbox setting that you already created. So if you can create it in the Inbox settings and it works, you can assume that it will work fine with this program...as long as you can get a connection.

the installer does not work but the cab file is in the zip file so you can manually move the cab to the device.
UPDATE: in addition to the installer not working neither does the software. It may work for std ppc with a ethernet connection but as for the PPCPE device, it does not spawn a GPRS connection, it just still there stating that it's trying to connect to a network. Now after unistalling the piece of crap I keep getting error messages stating that it can't start up the app. TIme to check the registry for left over parts of the app.
Maybe they should have done a bit more on testing before sending this out the door because it sucks!!!!

I need something that works with npop as well. Inbox stinks if you need to do some non standard things like smtpauth.

I tried the app and also found out that it fails to connect via GPRS on ppcpe. I see the status window saying "connecting to network..." for a couple of minutes and then "connection to network failed". However, I found out that if I connected manually before HD mail page starts connecting then it works fine. It connects to the server, login, check mail and disconnect, even though it failed to power off my ppcpe. It does not help the situation of course since automatic connect and disconnect is the reason to use HD mail page in the first place. But may be there is something we do wrong?

As I mentioned above, I had the same issue. I think this was either advertised wrong or clearly it was never tested with the PPCPE. Honestly, I should have known right off the bat that it sucked, the damn thing didn't even installed correctly, I had to manually install it.

I agree. I get so frustrated having to go through the registry on the PPC and my dekstop removing crap. What is even more frustrating is when you do an uninstall and the PPC gives an error stating that it can not remove certain files and the uninstall failed. I want to know why software developers neglect to write proper uninstall programs.
Hey Developers - When we have decided that we no longer want your software on our device, it means we now longer want ANY of your code on our PPC or on the DESKTOP. Please take every file, every folder and every line of code off our devices -- in case your wondering, it means leave our device the way you found them! Have some respect and clean up after you leave!
