Default Pocket Backup Plus 2.1 Released

http://www.spritesoftware.com

Sprite Software has released a minor update to their awesome backup application. There are two major issues addressed in 2.1.

Backup File Management - You can now tell Pocket Backup to automatically restrict the backup folder to a preset MB level or to only keep X backup files.
You can now create self extracting restore files without having to use autonaming restore files.

Default Not up yet?

I've just tried twice to download the file... it seems I keep getting 2.01 still, not 2.1, I guess I'll have to wait a bit longer.

I don't know why anyone would want to be a smartypants about posting a proper link, then posting no link... seems an odd waste of time. Here's the page for when you have already got the full version, and just need to download the update 2.1 file.

Worked fine for me, getting version 2.1.

Clear your cache. It is possible you are linking to their 2.01 update because of an old html file in your IE Temp files.

I went to http://www.spritesoftware.com/produc...ad_backup.html then put in my email and submitted. The download started automatically.

Finally, be sure you are installing it to the same place you installed it the first time. AS is so annoying when upgrading because it doesn't make any attempt to redirect upgrades, and it knows they are upgrades because it can see the app on the device and usually asks about reinstalling, to the original installation folder. I can't tell you how many upgrades I've done and wound up with two copies. This could be your problem Tekguru - your shortcuts still point to the old one while the new 2.1 files lay happily dormant on your machine somewhere else.

Hi Ed, got it down on the third downloaed. I had cleared caches in between, as I'd thought of that one. I think for some reason the install had just gone duff. In there now so I'm happy, just one of those things I guess.

I didn't install mine, as I am unsure as to whether we are supposed to uninstall our current version and then install the new, or install the new one over the existing version.

Anyone??

Thanks

I did not uninstall anything, I just told it to repair it and it installed the latest and greatest.
