PocketWinc and PocketWarrior work with Prism based cards and Intersil drivers. Boingo doesn't appear to do that. PocketWinc eases connections to the found wifis and lets you save wifi setups. I don't think Pocket Warrior does, but I'm not sure.

Socket Driver
If you have a Socket WIFI card and install the latest driver from their website it seems to do what this does and is free! What I really like about the new driver is how it dynamically changes the adapter settings. I can set my home network to a fixed IP and set my work network profile to DHCP and it will dynamically switch as it needs to. This is, in a word, awesome.

Why do I have to give all my personal info, including home address and phone # to download the demo?? That's really weird....

Is this going to work with a Symbol card? I haven't found one yet that will, but I sure like to.

Don't bother... the new Symbol driver appears to do most of what these applications do.

I seriously doubt it. This software looks like someone had said earlier, in that it will only work with the Prism based PC cards. It just looks like a fancier version of Ministumbler which is free at www.netstumbler.com.
If you haven't checked out the new drivers at Symbol's site it has alot of the same features here.
The Mobile Companion Client Software Bundle includes drivers, integrated firmware, and the Mobile Companion utility for network configuration and monitoring.

Symbol card
I have a symbol card and have found the socket drives to work flawlessly. It updates something that symbol simply forgot about.
On the bonus side of things the socket drivers add the AP search feature and I can save settings based on location i.e. home, work, starbucks etc.
Symbol users I definately recommend installing the socket drivers.
I can't see paying for this application... at least not this much. 8O
