Default Review Feedback

We've had our review team active for a couple of months now, and as near as I can tell, we've become one of the more prolific Pocket PC review sites, publishing three or four reviews a week, and more if you include the columns. I've been pleased with the quality of the reviews I've seen, but I'd like to know what you think. How are we doing with the reviews? What can we improve? Is there a certain type of information that we're consistently missing in our reviews? Are there certain types of products you'd like to see reviewed?

Honest, but polite, feedback is welcome! :way to go:

I have enjoyed that the reviews cover items that I, a modest buyer (that is, I don't go buy the first thing, even if I need it or not), would buy.

I enjoy reviews over items like in-car holders, cameras, and useful software!

And if you're looking for advice for the future, I'd say just keep it on that track (for me personally anyway). I don't need to read about what some software that solves one very obscure purpose does...
and you've been great at not doing that!
Thanks!

Default Keep up the good work.

I think everyone is doing great. I don't usually even notice when its one of the new guys, their work is of such high quality.

Keep it coming.

Oh also, I'd like to see some reviews of Pocket PCs themselves, not necessarily just accessories or software, etc..

Default Great

I think the whole site is great. One thing I would like to see is a direct link to all the reviews, seperated in categories.

I know I like to go back to reviews and read them a few months later or compare something new to something old.

Good jobs all the way around.

Maybe a "Rate this review" selection at the end of the document where we can rate the review on a scale of 1-5 or a scale of "I was going to buy this product, but now I won't" to "I wasn't going to buy this product, but now I will"

I like that idea... but I have a feeling that everybody would just give all of the reviews 5 stars all of the time!

Good suggestion, and I think you'll see that in the next...while.

Maybe. Maybe not. I've seen a couple of reviews that I wouldn't rate as 5, but I'm sure not going to name names here.

The reviews are excellant. If you're soliciting suggestions, however, I suggest:

1. A consistent icon on the home page when the posting is a review of a product. For example, I had no idea that the CF camera article today (IA Style CompactFlash Camera: Only for the Patient?) was a review until I looked at the reviews page to provide feedback. I thought it was just another hardware announcement.

2. Categorization of reviews on the review page (graphics software, utilities, etc.).

3. An overall rating (0 to 5 stars) that can be seen on the review page.

4. Posting the reviewer's conclusion/synopsis on the home page.

5. Providing a link to your affiliate in the review if they sell the product so if we like the product, you can get compensated. (I doubt that the financial incentive will be so great that PocketPCThoughts will turn into a puff peice for hw/sw sellers.)
