Handhelds Fighting Bioterror
http://www.forbes.com/2003/05/01/cx_mh_0501tentech.html
"Yesterday morning, Dr. Matthew Leibowitz synced his Palm to his computer and got a memo about anthrax, botulism and plague. The message was the first tryout of a government-sponsored system that would alert frontline health care workers of bioterrorist attacks. If there had been an actual terrorist attack, he would have received up-to-date information from the Centers for Disease Control about how the disease could be treated."
The service is available on Palm and Pocket PC software through the ePocrates software program. I didn't realize that over 700,000 medical professionals used that app. If you are interested in the application, you may want to check out our product review.

The only problem is that the bioterror alerts only transfer when you update Qrx! Thus for those who do not sync everyday, this is no good...

Well, yeah. Isn't that like saying email alerts do no good because you only check email 3-4 times a week?
