The MusiKube Project: Portable In-Store Music Guide
Bill Perry over at Pocket PC Flash.net has published a very interesting interview about an application that was developed for the Pocket PC. The interview goes into a lot of detail about why they chose the Pocket PC platform, what factors influenced the application UI design, and a lot more. A very interesting read from any perspective!
"What do you get when you combine Flash, Pocket PCs, Bar code scanners, a WiFi network, SQL servers, XML, Windows Media Player and web services...? You get one heck of an integrated consumer application!Marlin Technology Partners in collaboration with Torch Digital recently completed the Vista Service for "MusiKube" which is currently being piloted in Carbon Music stores hosted in the Urban Outfitters retail chain.
Around the beginning of April, I was able to interview two of the lead people involved with the project and in the process I learned a lot about the MusiKube project. We discussed the purpose of the Vista application, the technologies involved and an overall view of the development cycle including lessons learned."
