Default Cardboard PC Case?

http://akiba.sorobangeeks.com/news_2339.html

OK, I've seen a lot of case mods, and a lot of them are cool -- but this one is simply hilarious, and I wouldn't have ever imagined of doing it. Can you say, "cardboard case"?

Amazingly, it's available for 76 Euros. A :google: English translation of the article is here.

Not only a fire hazard, but no EMI shielding, poor ventilation, no grounding except through the wiring and since when is 76 Euros cheap?!

I couldn't quite figure that bit out.

The one upside of it: it's presumably lighter than your typical metal PC.

Imagine if you spilled some sort of tasty beverage on it, you would no longer have a PC case, but rather an expensive pile of pulp. Your PC may not survive either.

Just imagine if you got caught holding or carrying that thing when it is raining outside, not only would you have a sopping wet PC case, but you would have to deal with that wet cardboard smell.

Another thing is, this thing would be very easy to destroy, someone could literally step on your PC case and crush it, thus severely damaging your components inside.

I bought one and it came delivered in a really nice metal container.

Just a warning, be careful where your place your PC if you buy one of these cases. I went on vacation for a week and when I came home, there was a drifter sleeping on my GeForce4.

He He!

Yeah, I can't count the number of times I've run around in the rain with my desktop PC in hand.
