Nice Start 2.2 - With HP 545x Biometric Support
The guys over at TranCreative have released a free upgrade to v2.2, and for a limited time, you can get the add-on BioScan module for free. This apparently enables the use of the biometric scanner with the Nice Start password screen. Cool!

I have both. There's just something that utterly bores me about the 5450 though...even though it has WiFi and Bluetooth built-in, it looks like the same old iPAQ I've had for years, so I don't find it exciting. The Dell is new and cool! 8) Now the 1910, there's an exciting device! Too bad it's crippled for wireless access...

Hmm. I'll take it off your hands then... at no cost to you! I'll even pay shipping.

In a thread on Brighthand, some people seem to think it improves recognition, reducing both palse positives and false negatives. I'd have thought it would just be skinning the interface and leaving the functionality alone.
I'll give it a try...

Well, he's tying into the API with his appplication, and it's possible that his implementation is "cleaner" than what HP did. Go TransCreative!

Yes but the thread is based on a enigmatic post and then taken from there. Looks like speculation on top of speculation atm.

Maybe next time I'll actually install and try it before I open my mouth! It does have it's own registration process and fingerprint storage at least. Wouldn't be surprised if the recognition was rewritten too. Odd enough for an application that is mostly about style, the biometric registration part doesn't look as slick as HP's.
Based on the huge statistical sample of trying it just three times, I can tell you it let me in.

This looks coll. Could not see any compatibility info for XDA. Anyone have any idea if this guy works well on the O2 XDA?
Thanks
