Default Calligrapher 6.5.1 released

http://www.phatware.com/calligrapher/index.html

It's not just Transcriber that was updated. It's bigger brother, Calligrapher, went to version 6.5.1. And what's even better, it adds support for new languagues: Dutch and Portuguese. Next to that, it should have a smaller footprint and a better performance. As I've been waiting for a Dutch version of this software, I immediately bought it. It works as advertised, although I found one little glitch. When selecting the Dutch language you'll have a QWERTZ pop-up keyboard, although in The Netherlands we mostly use the US QWERTY layout. But it's very cool to finally be able to write all over the screen in my own handwriting. You can get Calligrapher for $ 39.95 at Handango or - if you have a Pocket PC 2002 device - upgrade from Transcriber for $29.95 [affiliate links].

New in Version 6.5.1
  • Support for Dutch handwriting recognition. Dutch Language Pack is now available.
Support for Portuguese handwriting recognition. Portuguese Language Pack is now available.
CalliGrapher memory footprint was reduced to provide compatibility with wider rage of third-party applications.

Are you shure, mine does not have this problem. Can't you work around it by changing the keyboard DLL to the english again (in the language settings)....

one problem i have is making the gesture for getting the pop-up te select the language. I can't get it done

So basically, unless you're Dutch or Portuguese, nothing has changed? :?

Well...errr....hmmm....they did reduce the footprint Looks like they may have done that by eliminating some code for PDAs using older CE OS. Take a look at the devices supported and you will note that 6.5.1 no longer supports the "old" PPC devices meaning those folks are stuck with 6.5.
