Default ePocrates / HP Pocket PC offer

https://www.epocrates.com/hpoffer.do

I've been telling you about the release of ePocrates for the Pocket PC before. The review that Jude would write will appear one of these days on Pocket PC Thoughts. But ePocrates was released a few days ago and you might already be certain you're going to want ePocrates. If that's the case, and you're also in the market for a Pocket PC, check out the special offers on the ePocrates pages. You get a 10% discount on a HP iPAQ 1915, a HP iPAQ 3900 series, or the HP iPAQ 5450. These are cool devices, that's cool software, and a nice deal!

No, the 56xx is scrapped. The 54xx continues to be sold.

Default Not Free

The version for the pocketpc is only the "pro" version,
there is no free version like there is for the Palm!

Does anyone know when a free version will be available?

AFAIK there are no immediate plans for a free version of Epocrates for the PocPC. Reminds me of PatientKeeper, another popular Palm medical application. For well over a year now, they have promised to release a PocPC version of their free Patient Keeper Personal app. To date they have released an Enterprise version which costs $$$ for the PocPC but no freeware version yet. Given that the freeware version is essentially a crippled version of the payware app, I don't know what's taking them so long to release the Personal edition for PocPCs. Worse, there is no clear way to purchase the enterprise version directly from their site (even if you wanted to) without having to go through their sales department. In this regards, Epocrates is heads-and-shoulders above PatientKeeper.

Default ePocrates reviewed on PocketPCReviews

There's an in-depth review of ePocrates from a non-medical perspective on www.PocketPCReviews.net

Cheers,
Martin
