Default iPaint by Cobalt Interactive

http://www.handango.com/PlatformPro...productId=31480

"iPaint packs big features found on leading desktop image-editing packages, including 24-bit color support, industry standard BMP and JPG file support, smudge tools, airbrushes, pencils, etc, all in a small, palm-sized application (< 250 k). iPaint provides a quick and intuitive user interface to access each of these features, including a custom, fast, one-click color picker. iPaint makes drawing and image-editing a breeze for your Pocket PC."

I was watching the MDC video and they were listing off the companies who won awards for their applications. One of the winners was iPaint, and I had never heard of it before. If you're looking for a painting program, this app looks great! You can download a trial or purchase it for $19.99.

I think this is more for digital sketching, drawing, etc - not so much for photo retouching.

Do pro photographers covering the Gulf War count?

Are you aware that unmodified iPaqs are being used to evaluate images shot on +$30,000 digital image backs?

No...because a pro photographer wouldnt be using this. As jason said...it's not for photo work. And nobody is calling this The Gulf War....that was 10 yrs ago. This is just War on Iraq or some variation...so I doubt you're the pro photographer you speak of.

exactly! seriously though...the app listed on your link seems to make more sense than the doodling program iPaint. I happen to be a photographer and work for a global news agency. We dont use PDA's...we give our people laptops with 1xrtt cards...although we have news bureaus in 40+ countries so we dont typically need to mobile-posting access. But it makes more sense for the photographer to take the pics and send them back to the editors to do the editing/adjusting. I know I wouldnt want to worry about gamma controls if i were in the field....sent it to the photoshop guru's back at the office.

Wow, can you imagine the dust under the screen problem there? Yikes!

Clearly, you lack imagination.

Anyway, I'm pretty excited to see this, as I've been looking for a paint/draw app for my PPC to make sketches on the go, and this one's about half the cost of the other ones I've looked at.

I have both Photogenics and PocketArtist, and while each have many more features than iPaint, they both are over 1MB in size, offer almost too many tool options, and can become quite slow handling larger files. They both also cost twice as much. iPaint is compact, fast and very versatile. Also the demo lets you fully explore it, you just can't save your creations.
