Default Geekzone Reviews Pocket PC Browsers

http://www.geekzone.co.nz/content.a...p?contentid=505

Geekzone reviews Pocket Internet Explorer, Access NetFront and Bitstream Thunderhawk. In general, their review is very good. I personally don't agree with the conclusions about Thunderhawk -- I am willing to put up with vertical scrolling slowness so that I don't have to horizontally scroll -- but if you're debating which browser to use, you might want to take a look.

Default Pocket PC Browsers

I did quite a bit of research on this topic awhile back, and found that the only solution for me was Bitstream's Thunderhawk. In my opinion, it was well worth the expensive price tag for the ability to realistically surf on my handheld.

It's not perfect, but it's pretty darn good. The problems? You can only use their keyboard for input (how do I type without Fitaly?!). I have also found a few sites that won't work through their proxy servers. And yes - it's expensive, but worth it for me.

In the end, though, it gave me what I wanted - readable web sites with all the pictures on my PPC. The fonts are excellent, of course. It's really amazing how well they present web pages. Pocket PC Thoughts comes out great on it. I don't have any problems with scrolling speed, but I only use it on my home wi-fi network. I love the fact that it is runs natively in landscape mode. I don't like using programs specifically for changing screen orientation - never could get into them.

Overall - I'd highly recommend trying Thunderhawk. You get 30 days for free, so there's nothing to lose. When my 30 days were up, it was a no-brainer, despite being the most expensive PPC app I have ever bought.
