ClearSpeed: A Much-Needed Boost for the iPAQ 1910
I've been experimenting with ClearSpeed over the past few days on my iPAQ 1910 (I received one recently - what a device), and I'm really pleased with the overall speed increase. The device just feels snappier - I also did a small benchmark that measured the BitBlit speed (how fast pixels can be hurled around the screen) and after activating ClearSpeed I saw a 33% increase in the benchmark speed. It's a good investment of $9.99 if you want to get the most out of your iPAQ 1910.

Sorry, can't agree.
Turbotray is the best and most convient speed stepper for H1910, it is absolutely free.
If you stated clearspeed is faster than turbotray, more comparsion data should be presented, at least you should mention turbotray, although you may get clearspeed free.

Thanks for the heads up Jason. I have been using SpeedStepper with good results to (plus it's free). If someone has used both, is there a difference in system peformance?

Jason didn't say it was the best or that it was more convienent
Have you used Speedstepper? If you did and decided on Turbotray, why?

not for me
speed stepper seems to have been causing the touch screen on my 1910 to freeze (4-5 times in the last day or so) so i turned it off and no more problems.
what is the url for turbotray?

I have used SpeedStepper, XScalar, ClearSpeed, and Turbo Tray and I have to say that ClearSpeed is the hands on winner only for the fact it allows assigning custom speeds on an application level.
There are times when I don't want to run at 300T consistently and set my multimedia and games to 300T or 300R and other apps at 200 or even 100mhz.
I was lucky that I was a "beta tester" for version 1 of ClearSpeed and had the opportunity to add some input to the developer. Overall, even though it is $9.99, the added functionality of ClearSpeed makes it well worth the price.

It's my opinion about an application that I've been testing, not a statement about which is the best app.

I've never tried it, nor did I say I did.

I didn't.

It wasn't a post about all the various CPU mod software out there - there are 5+ different software tools that mostly do the same thing. What made you think this was a comparision post?
You're welcome to suggest an alternative that YOU like, but don't level criticism at me for not reading your mind and picking your pet app.

So what is the speed stepping doing to your already highly discussed battery life (or lack of it) on your 1910?

I haven't honestly noticed a difference yet, but I haven't done any benchmarks yet either.
