GPSPassion posted a preview of the Holux CF GPS Ultra. According to the findings, this receiver improves reception by at least 30% over the best current solutions and precision by a factor of 2! It also seems to be able to get a fix in situations where other units can not. According to Semsons the retail price will be $199.99, with an initial pre-order price of $179.99 until March 17, 2003.

This GPS does break new ground compared with existing solutions by letting you get a fix inside a building. Of course, this is not extemely useful while driving except if you do a lot of driving in large towns, but does open the way for LBS (Localisation Based Services) in mobile units (where's the closest restaurant, etc...).
A huge market SiRF is paying close attention to judging by their acquisitio of Enuvis a wireless location technology Innovator.
