Default MTUX Pims for SideX 2003

http://www.ppcw.net/index.php?area=...tory=1046186562

"As you know, I am big fan of MTUX's SideX platform which is a new applet platform designed for Pocket PC 2002 and Pocket PC Phone Edition. It's simple but powerful with great applets. It provides a unique and new user interface for Pocket PC and let you use a lot useful applets in a smart way (see my previous SideX 2002 review and SideX 2003 preview). Now, MTUX released a new cool applet which makes SideX 2003 even more powerful and useful: Pims. The Pims applet includes two functions: "Pims" which is an Inbox, Calendar and Task summary viewer and "Contacts" the easy to find Contacts viewer."

Arne Hess has put together a great little review for MTUX Pims for SideX 2003. I have yet to try anything by SideX (they don't seem to know we exist), but it sure looks like an innovative concept that they've extended in some interesting ways. What do you think of the SideX tools?

Default MTUX

I can't find enough good things to say about their software. It is the best out there. You will love how it docks to the side, out of view. Even in Microsoft Reader, it doesn't hide the text. I have all of the applets and it is one program I use daily, repeatedly. There is a Tip Calculator, a Price Calculator, Convertor, Bio Rhythm and more. I gave up all my other apps. like this to use SideX exclusively.

Every now and then an applet will fail to load and I'll get an error saying that it couldn't load. This may be because I have some of the applets on my Storage Card.

One thing I'm disappointed about is that they appear to have removed support for using today plug-ins as applets. I'm not sure what version this was, but they had an option to import today applets into SideX so that you could view these using SideX from wherever you were. Great feature that was subsequently removed. I sent an email to the developer about this, but I didn't get any reply.

Ok. I guess I'm just not seeing the usefulness of these applets?

Hey, I haven't seen this program before. Looks pretty good.

Is it really more useful than the built-in apps though? My calendar, contacts and tasks are only a button away afterall.

Nice app. One problem with the PIM....My morning meetings (before 12pm) do not get displayed. The only thing I can think of is Sidex is using 24h time and is not able to handle 12h. Any thoughts?
