Frontier's Darxide EMP for Pocket PC Now Available!
"The game is played over 12 missions of increasing difficulty. In addition to the 'quick fix' of shooting things, there is a variety of different, well structured increasingly challenging mission criteria which mean that thought is required to progress - the Alien enemies have different weaknesses and attack modes. Later in the game the ability to manage resources becomes crucial to success, and the whole culminates in a furious blast against the Alien Mothership.
The game extracts maximum gaming performance from the Pocket PC platform, being played in landscape mode and offering touchscreen softkey controls for firing weapons and controlling speed. There is a choice of right- or left-handed operation, and players can re-define the default button configurations to suit their individual preferences."

Darxide EMP is priced at 12.99 and runs on Pocket PC PDA devices which use ARM architecture CPUs and run the Microsoft Pocket PC 2002 or Pocket PC 2002 Phone Edition operating systems.

I recently made a deep review of the game on PPCReviews.net, a french site covering pocketpc news & software reviews (the review will be online on tuesday) and i've been enjoying it for more than one week from now. I agree with Steven, the realisation is quite amazing and the gameplay is excellent. The difficulty is progressive and the missions are not repetitive at all. An excellent game and i recommend everyone to try the demo level (after a quick read on the manual)

Interesting - it sounds like the progressive battles fought in the book Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card. An excellent book, and highly recommended to nearly anyone.

I bought the full version of DarXide and I must say that it is one of the best Pocket PC games. The gameplay is fast (and furious :wink and the graphics are very polished and professional. It's worth the bucks.

...and once you've read that one (+ the sequels) you need to read "Ender's Shadow" which puts a new twist to Ender's Game...

Holy cow!
I have played many many pocketpc games and I personally think the graphics are unbelieveable. To elaborate, I have never seen graphics move as smoothly or quickly as this game. All I can say is wow. Anyone who wants to see what their expensive little toy blow away a Palm, this is the program to demo.
