Default Manipulate Pocket PC Using Srego CE Toolpack

http://www.srego.com/

Someone once said: "Developers, developers, developers, developers, developers..."! I am glad to see an increasing number of third party tool and utilities vendors around the Pocket PC platform. Srego has released a set of tools that makes it easy to develop applications that manage a connected Pocket PC. Check it out!

"The Srego CE ToolPack provides a set of utilities for the Windows desktop to manipulate a connected Windows CE device. All of the utilities are command-line tools that are run on the desktop (not the Windows CE device). Most of the utilities are similar in functionality to an existing Command Prompt utility (such as Copy, Del, Move, Dir, MkDir, RmDir, and Start.) only the task is performed on the Windows CE device, not the desktop. For example, the ceDir utility provided in the Srego CE ToolPack is similar to the Command Prompt Dir command, only the directory information it displays on the desktop will come from the Windows CE device. Additionally, cePush and cePull can be used to move files back and forth between the desktop and the device."

There have been some tools like this available for free for quite a while. Check out http://www.rainer-keuchel.de/software.html for a whole boatload of tools including CE Desktop tools (like what this thread is about) plus much more stuff for the device itself, inlcuding Apache, Vim, and other groovy stuff. 8)

Default [offtopic] For anyone who missed the developers, developers... reference!

It was Steve Ballmer from Microsoft. There's a particularly wild rendition of this crazy speech (set to music!) available:
