HP Jornada 430: Holy Retro Gear Batman!
"The HP Jornada 430 Palm-size computer is a mobile computer running the Microsoft Windows CE operating system. It allows you to store your business and personal information, manage your appointments and contacts, and check e-mail while on the road. 16MB RAM/8MB ROM, Expandable CompactFlash slot."

Anyone remember these? You can pick one up for $65 - I'd almost get one just for the nostalgic value! Ah, the memories of Windows CE 2.11...it's amazing how far we've come!

I remember being in awe of how advanced it was!
Now I have a Toshiba E330 that makes that thing look like a cinder block
Truth be told, I really do remember that bad boy, and as was the case with most of the handhelds at the time, HP was not only ahead of the curve, it was creating the curve. Funny how that never really changed.
My first two handhelds were HP:
HP 200lx (can someone say DOS?)
HP 320lx (still one of the best I've ever owned)...
Ah.... Those were the days...

I'd get another e105 if Casio sold them for only $68! I mean, they can play music and with PocketMVP they can play movies pretty good. It'd be kinda cool to like have a whole bunch of e105s to play with...

Casio was ahead of HP for a while, there, with the e10x device. I mean, no other Palm-sized PC came close. Built-in stereo CD quality sound, integrated CF card, STILL the best screen... not to mention the then-amazing 131MHz... The 32 MB of RAM of the e105 (16MB for the e100) was what told me that I HAD to get the Casio one. I was right. Still a decent PDA.

I opened mine up a month ago. It was packed nicely for it's time. Compare that to the new toys we have today. 1910 comes to mind.
Man...
wanna see something else. How about the old HP Omnigo 100?
It is still working and sitting on my table.

Don't misconceive that it is far easier to improve a technology after the fact it has been invented rather than invent it, or contribute a substantial amount of engineering resources to invent, manufacture and spearhead the marketing of a emerging technology. Not many companies can successfully undertake such endeavors, much less for 40 years and running as hp continues to do. Not to understate compaq's contributions to the current state of the pocketpc, however, competition is good. Especially now with more power players in the market to "one-up" eachother. With strong competition, we all benefit with more advanced units to do more things with. :grab:

I'd get one just because it contains the magic word: JORNADA!
Long Live Jornada!
