Default You Are Not A Slacker

http://news.com.com/2100-1017-983305.html

Much of our traffic comes from people at their office or during work hours, but a new study by the University of Maryland shows that can be a good thing for employers.

"The survey found that people with Web access at home and at work spend an average of 3.7 hours per week surfing sites for personal use at work. But they spend more time, 5.9 hours per week, logging on from home so they can work. 'The survey suggests companies should accept some personal use of the Internet at work as not only inevitable, but as positive to the organization,' Roland Rust, director of the business school's Center for e-Service, said in a statement."

Tell your boss you need to get twice as productive as you currently are and start by visiting Pocket PC Thoughts more than ever!

This study is disturbingly delicious. Slacker of the world unite. We should fund more study like this.

Hear Hear

I don't often find myself 'agreeing' with surveys - but I'm amazed to reflect on the fact that this one is representative of myself to a 't'!

I do like 'forgetting' the laptop at work on occasion - it's good to remember what life is like without PCs. Just for a night, mind. And I have my ppc with me just in case. Well, you know. Can't be *completely* without pc/stuff/toys :!:

I use to be able to justify coming here as I support the PDAs in this office. Its always important to stay up on current tech but *SLAMS HEAD INTO KEYBOARD*

The powers that be in our company are going strictly with Palm OS....not just Palm OS but Palm hardware. Existing Pocket PC users are going to be SOL in the next few months because we aren't going to support PPC's at all. Idiots.

I would consider it poetic justice for extreme stupidity if the Palm hardware side of Palm went under and all we supported was Palm hardware. The price of incompetence.

Maybe I can justify going to Palminfocenter then :P but its not nearly as fun.

Well, if you still want to visit this site, just explain how we have comparative coverage of Palm devices and/or you're always looking forward to future solutions for the company.

This is definitely one of the best studies I've every seen!!

What great statistics!! I certainly need breaks during the day to just turn off my brain and log onto PPCT (I swear that's meant as a compliment)! Helps me stay fresh.
