Pocket PC Summit Interviews Jason Dunn
If you've wondered who Jason really is, just want to see a picture of him, or want to hear his latest conspiracy theories about Palm OS, the future of Microsoft, and his new job at Spb, check this interview out. It's pretty thorough, and nicely done.
If you don't have time to read it right now, the Pocket PC Summit guys have made a convenient Microsoft Reader eBook out of the interview.
Oh, and Jason -- nice hairdo.

Not what I was expecting, his answers were very balanced, well though out and the interview showed a three dimensional person, not the one that is sometimes manifested here.
Glad to see that he's able to un-plug as well!
Quite an interesting read, I must say.

Very baanced, but why no mention of Symbian OS, Nokia et al? Surely they are more important than Palm viz a viz volume of units sold (2 million 7650's) compared to the3 million iPaqs sold in 2002?
Can these two OS' sit side by side?

This stage is Pocket PC Thoughts, but I've acted on many stages throughout my career. People are very rarely one dimensional!

Hey, what's wrong with my hair cut? I'm "hip" and "cool". Or at least that's what my mom tells me...

Get a haircut like Wolverine (Logan) and then you will truly be a hip Canadian.

Yet Microsoft seems perfectly content to let scenarios like that exist on the Pocket PC. Pocket PC performance is held back on many levels, and needs to be drastically improved - the whole Xscale debacle is proof of this. Performance matters, and I want to see Microsoft acknowledge.

Glad to see that you are still a vocal advocate for MS rectifying some of the more glaring bugs and omissions in the PocketPC OS. Too often enthusiast sites, especially ones where the site owner/editor has close contacts with MS, seem all too cozy with MS and fail to sound the call for improvements where needed. I know it's a tough balancing act but looks like you have mastered the tightrope. Great interview and I can't wait for your digital enthusiast site to open.

Jason, just out of curiosity, you complain about the speed of current 2.5G standards, specifically Rogers' GPRS service... have you tried Telus' 1xRTT?? I've read reports in quite a few places (none of them comparing Rogers/Telus), that say 1xRTT in real world situations delivers significantly faster connections than GPRS.
