My New York Times audible subscription is almost up and I am dissatisfied with it for two reasons and do not plan on re-subscribing to it, so this timing is perfect to complement my Wall Street Journal Audible subscription, which I do plan on keeping. Although it was a neat side effect of getting a device that supports Audible back in 1999, there is no question that the number one use in terms of hours used is listening to news being read to me as I spend two hours in the car each day.

I'm really pumped over this! :rock on dude!:
I've been an avid CNET Radio listener since the early days, starting back in 96. It has become a daily routine for me, listening to CNET's live stream each morning. Excellent news content! For me this is reason enough to own a PPC! 8)
By the way, does anyone else out there remember PC World's old news program: PC World News Radio with Brian McWilliams? Ah...the good old days. :cry:

You find half the stories on here? When do you sleep? When are they going to put you officially on staff and pay you the big bucks like Ed? (Yes, I know this is only a labor of love for those here. Love and the great prestige and respect shown by the posters here :roll: )

Me too! Thanks for the tip.
BTW, did you know that the Tell-Me phone service also includes CNet news reports? I listen to it all the time on my cell.

LOL! Now that's funny. I believe that hell would have to freeze over before I'm offered a place on the staff. It would be like inviting Satan over to your house for dinner. My talent for stirring up controversy has gotten me into far too much trouble. :twisted:

Sorry to dredge up this old thread, but in case anyone hasn't yet heard the sad news....CNET Radio has gone off the air forever. The 24/7 broadcast has ceased. According to Brian Cooley (senior director), the decision was made by CNET executives to pull the plug on operations due to financial reasons (In other words, CNET wasn't making any money on CNET Radio).
The new CNET Radio direct will still go forward of course. But the live 24 hour broadcast format is gone. The entire broadcast team (with the exception of Brian Cooley) has been laid off as well. I will truly miss CNET Radio. It's like losing an old friend. :cry: :cry: :cry: :cry:
