Nice Start Review
Jenneth, who loves to customize her Pocket PC, writes in with another review on her blog - this time, of Nice Start, a program that replaces your standard password screen with something that more closely resembles the XP login screen. We reported on this program a few months ago, and it's nice to see such a detailed review.

Handango now has a downloadable trial.
Nice product by the way, a lot of bugs when it first came out but the developer has really improved it.

NiceStart v. Matrix(pocketcandy)
Choices too many choices.... using NiceStart version 2 in iPaq 3950 but still found a problem with pocketcandy displaying Matrix. A complete removal of NiceStart 1.8 for the upgrade was not permited because the TurnOff utility was loaded in the ROM which required (?) a hard reset for removal. Now under listed programs is both versions. Operating probleming...no not really, then why do it

Yes - I found removing version 1.8 to be a bit problematic. Basically what I did was rename those Nice Start files in the Windows folder that the "Remove programs" utility said it couldn't uninstall (by changing the file extension), then uninstalling the program, resetting, then installing the new version. Same sort of procedure for removing most today plug-ins.
The later versions of Nice Start (from about v 1.8.3 upwards) remove this problem and allow you to uninstall it without doing the above procedure. Sorry to hear that you were having problems with the program. But as I said (and as Doug Rausch also pointed out), this program is continually making small but significant improvements with each new release.

Thanks. I didn't see it last night, but it was admittedly late. I've updated the post.

Nice Start
I downloaded this app. when it was $5.95. I had to return my T-Mobile unit back because it froze and I couldn't use it any longer. I was without it for 7 days. I've already written about this so I won't go into it again.
TranCreative did make a note after that Not compatible with T-Mobile
What I think is outlandish now is that they've upgraded and some people are still having problems (read a view on another site that it still hangs with T-Mobile)and asking $9.90 for it!
