Default Surely You Have Better Things To Do

http://www.twotowersprotest.org/

How insensitive. In 1954 J.R.R. Tolkien published "The Two Towers" without any regard for the feelings of those that experienced that terrible event on September 11, 2001.

I kept hoping this site was some sort of sick parody, but I think it is real. This only detracts from the memory of that event. Get a life folks.

this is a joke guys read the faq

The creators of the movie have free speech, so what makes you think they should have to change the name of the movie?

We believe that Peter Jackson and New Line Cinema's actions are in fact hate speech. The movie is intentionally being named The Two Towers in order to capitalize on the tragedy of September 11. Clearly, you cannot deny the fact that this falls under hate speech. We believe that if they will not willingly change the name, the government should step in to stop the movie's production or to force a name change.

Unbelieveable. I work in NYC and would never have made that connection if I hadn't seen this post. The depth of idiocy out there is staggering.

Im sorry but what am I missing here? Is there a web site with a sick sense of humor? All I see is a flag. Are you saying that someone wrote a book in 1954 and is insensitive because of something that happened in 2001?

I'm sure I'm missing something. Just would like to know what.

Thanx

This hoax has been going around for months. There was/is a petition set up to get people to sign up online demanding the name of the movie be changed just to see how many people would sign it. A lot did.

Ed forgot the link - I've added it into his post.

Glad to see it's a hoax, although I question the sanity of these people who go out of their way to trick others... :?

That's just great.
So which is worse: someone who would actually make a petition against the movie, or someone who would make a hoax of someone making a petition against the movie?

Would those people that signed the "petition" be the same ones that wonder why their email box is constantly flooded with SPAM? Seems like an email collection scam to me.
