Default New Adapter for T-Mobile/O2 XDA/Siemens SX56 Pocket PC Phones

http://store.yahoo.com/cgi-bin/clin...tml+ppcthoughts

If you have a any of the above-mentioned Pocket PCs, this adaptor could be very useful to you - it allows you to take any iPAQ accessory that would connect to the base port and use it with your XDA! They're sending me one, so I'll post again when I check it our personally. If you're interested in ordering now (affiliate), use the code "ppcthoughts" to get a 10% discount.

"Want to buy a new accessory for your T-Mobile/O2 XDA/Siemens SX56 PocketPC Phone, but it's not available yet? With Gomadic's new 31/36/3700 to T-Mobile/O2 XDA/Siemens SX56 Interface Adapter, you can convert any iPAQ accessory to work with the new Pocket PC Phone. Equipped with a 31/36/3700 series socket on one end, a short 1" length of cable and a T-Mobile/O2 XDA/Siemens SX56 plug on the other, simply plug the iPAQ device in the socket, connect the adapter plug to the base port of the PocketPC Phone and you're ready to go! This is the ideal product for the new PocketPC phone user who wants to accessorize with keyboards, GPS, etc!

Only Gomadic's interface adapter maps all pins from the 12-pin iPAQ 31/36/3700 interface to the appropriate pins on the 22-pin T-Mobile/O2 XDA/Siemens SX56 interface ensuring 100% compatibility with every cable accessory including Keyboards, GPS antennas, Power sync USB cables, etc. Don't be fooled by cheaper imitations that only map a subset of the interface pins, as they will not work with many cable accessories!"

Found another XDA adapter over here, http://www.doml.com.sg/product.asp?id=717 . IMO, this one seems to be better suited for use with a keyboard.

Yeah...I'm a little confused how this Gomadic cable will work with a keyboard considering how tall it is. The XDA won't exactly dock with the keyboard like an iPAQ would. I'll see when I get it!

The price of the DOML one at $59.95 seems very steep! 8O
Think I would go for the Gomadic one at $19.95 and use a book to prop the XDA or use a screen rotate prog and use on it's side! I seem to recall another alternative that was priced around $29.95 - but can't recall where I saw it.
Flip!
