Juss Press - Instant Wireless Imaging
A couple of folks over at UCSD are developing an "Instant Wireless Imaging" prototype--think of it as an automatic-uploading camera. Their current system runs on a Pocket PC, connected to an HP CF camera, and transmits over any online connection. They're looking for testers - if you're interested, check it out. Note that their software does not currently work with XScale units; they say it freezes (insert usual XScale debate here).

that was the only mirror around. In the bathroom. The device is taking a picture of itself.

Camera and Network
I'd love to be able to do something like this....
I just purchased a LifeView Compact flash camera... Works with MS Portrait... I have a few 802.11b cards, and have the Compaq Dual PCMCIA sleeve...
One problem, the camera takes up too much room, and I can not insert another card, since there is not room for any of my 802.11b cards for the protrussion...conflicts with the camera.
Is this not true of the HP camera, or any other cameras for the PocketPC.
BTW, has anyone seen or purchased this camera...

Seems interesting... I just purchased a network Camera from them, which supports a web interface, and has pan and tilt. Pretty cool, even supports an optional motion sensor to trigger and email, which will send the picture which triggered the motion sensor...
Software doesn't have a lot of options, like taking timed pictures and uploading them to a webpage, etc...but not bad at all...

hp cam
Ya, the hp cam leaves room so that you can put in two cards. It is probably one of the best quality cameras. I heard the veo works well with a large number of different PPCs.

Cameras
RyES,
Any idea if the VEO has room to be used in conjunction with a dual PCMCIA and an 802.11b wireless card?
I know I am not quite happy with the Lifeview cam I bought. Cando video, but in a propriety format... Has two seperate programs for capturing video.... Only one does a standard format(AVI) and it's meant to email videos....and it has size restrictions...
Thx;

I suppose buying an iPAQ 5450 is out of the question? :-)

Pony99CA,
Well I did purchase a CompUSA TAP with my 3835, so I guess anything is possible???
Would be nice to have bluetooth and 802.11b built-in!
OH NO! IT DIDN'T HAPPEN!?!?!!? Arrrhhhhhhh....
My Ipaq just fell off the table and broke. Oh no, what will I do?
Just kidding.....

One of the problems I still have with the iPaq line is that there is no IO option without a sleeve. They should have put two SDIO slots or one SDIO and one CF slot.
