Finally!
I have been waiting for this for a long time. In fact, I have been looking for this feature ever since i first looked at Linux.
Now, perhaps, I will install Linux on that little 7GB of extra, non-formatted space on my 80GB hard-drive. Mandrake Linux 9.0, baby!
Yes, I do realize that this is pretty simple, but I also know that this project is far enough along and enough people use Pocket PCs now that I think that either this project or a similar one will be included in the next subrelease (or maybe three or four subreleases from now) of, say, Gnome or KDE. I am excited! I hope they will support TCP/IP syncing as I just got my WiFi CF card's MAC address registered at my college.

Wuh oh, hope Microsoft doesn't come along and try to shut you down now, Jason!

Well, if you use OS X, that's a *NIX-based core, so it shouldn't be too hard to port this as a console app.

Once again someone has to step up to the plate and do what MS should have done a long time ago.
And thank god for it. I've been trying to get ActiveStink to work in WINE with no success.

Thanks for the info, Jonathan. I did not get the previous versions because of the bad reviews. Also, PocketMac announced the version for Jaguar was done a week or two but one can not find it on their site so I stopped checking.
In any case, I am still all for a free solution of course. I'd port the linux version to Mac but as one of the poll on the front page says: "I can't code my way out of a paper bag." (despite working as a IT consultant).

I was very keen to give pocketmac a go but I don't have a pocket pc anymore.
I'm waiting for something really serious, like the 56xx maybe.

PocketMac is a cruel joke, $80-ish for beta software that doesn't really work with no demo at all
Since SyncCE is supposed to work with BSD as well as Linux, maybe I could hack it to work on my iBook via Fink. Of course, there is still the matter of WHAT I would sync it to...
