InfoTouch P600
Looks like the world has a new Pocket PC Phone Edition device: the InfoTouch P600. Arne Hess has the scoop over at his site, but I hope it's better-looking in person. These images aren't overly flattering...a little too retro for my tastes.

"Eten's brand new InfoTouch P600 is available in Germany. This is a Pocket PC Phone Edition device and exclusively distributed through consus solutions GmbH. The P600 is equipped with a StrongARM 32-bit RISC processor, 32MB ROM, 64MB RAM, and a 240x320 TFT LCD with 65,536 colors. The Li-Ion re-chargeable battery is good for up to 8 hours. Synchronization is achieved through either the built-in IrDA or the included USB adaptor."

Looks aside, its a PPCPE device with 64 mb ram, integrated CF2 and SDI0! I think it looks like a lot of people's dream device. It sure would be mine if it were here in the U.S. :!: The only reason I don't have an XDA is the lack of a CF slot (and the 32 mb ram as well, but that I could have upgraded).

yvilla-
I talked to these guys at Comdex on Wednesday. They're looking to launch their product here Q1 2003, and the guy I spoke with said they'll be selling through channels other than carriers. He said their target price point is around $650, which isn't too bad considering there's no carrier subsidy.
And unfortunately it's no better looking in person.

Has a nice 'industrial' look to it. I certainly wouldn't mind owning one 8)

That's strange--I looked at the Infosync review bdeli posted about, and it says this device has only an MM/SD slot, while Arne Hess's site says it has CF2 as well. 8O
I wonder which is right?
Update to my own post: I just checked back on Arne Hess's site, and it now has a clarification that CF expansion is only through an optional "adapter". There goes this as a "dream" device.
