Default Toshiba e740 for $374 After Rebate

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0000658CE/jasondunn-20

Looks like Amazon is back to offering the e740 with built-in WiFi for $374 after rebates. This offer seems to come and go at random, so if you've been waiting for a good price on the e740, this is it. Source: Sweetpete.

Hmmm - I wonder what the replacement for the 740 is going to have spec-wise. A backlit transfexive screen would be nice! Still, it's a tempting price.

Default HP/Compaq price

And has HP dropped the price of the single-slot iPaq?

Go to pricegrabber, it's been there for less than $400 for quite some time now and you don't have to deal with stupid rebates(had a few bad experiences). :x

Default Hmm What to do? What to do?

I would have jumped at this 2 months ago but after hearing about the new Dells I have to find out what they have.

The shootout: :2gunfire:

Viewsonic? I hear they have a great screen.

Dell? Dunno yet.. good prices.

Toshiba? Must be coming out with a really cool next generation device.

HP? Ho hum.

Who did I miss?

and the CF slot will provide wireless AND cheap storage

everyday i'm amazed that people gave up on the awesome casio screen so people could see washed out colors indoors and out. silly.

Yes, I can't see anyone buying this with so much about to happen. Before you buy this keep the following things in mind:

1 - The e740, although pretty small for all it has in it, is still fairly thick.

2 - Toshiba's screens are among the worst.

3 - The WiFi is very weak. There were times when my notebook had a 35% signal and my Toshiba couldn't see anything.

4 - Almost NONE of the accessories that Toshiba promised have eventually shown up.

It would have been a good deal a month or so again (when it first appeared), but now you should hold.

Default Toshiba's New PDA

Why buy the Toshiba e740 when you can get the new Toshiba GENIO e550GS/GX/GXMD soon? The GX Series is said to have 128MB of memory. It's supposed to cost only $575! Thats way better than any thing else on the market right now!

The Dell is meant to have a backlit transflexive screen - so it should be worth waiting for (not that there is much loger to go till the 18th.....).
