Smartphone 2002 to be Launched Next Week
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/nm/20021018/tc_nm/telecoms_orange_dc_1
Party time, friends! According to this article, the Smartphone 2002 will launch in London on October 22. I can't tell you guys how much I have longed for this happen! I hope to find out more details soon and will post them here as soon as I do.
"A prototype model seen by Reuters allowed a user to view streaming video clips from Ananova, the news service with a computer-generated female news reader which was sold to Orange by Britain's Press Association more than two years ago. The U.S. software giant first unveiled its new Windows Smartphone 2002 software in February, and has been wooing network operators ever since. Orange declined to make any comment on the new handset, which is manufactured by Taiwan's High Tech Computer. HTC also made the xda, a combination mobile phone/handheld organizer, for Britain's mmO2 and Microsoft. Codenamed "Canary," the new Orange phone will first be unveiled to the public next Tuesday, when it may steal some thunder from the formal launch of Vodafone's Live! multimedia messaging service on Thursday."

You may be waiting more than you think - I saw a beta unit at CeBit earlier this year and it was SLOW - far too sluggish for my liking. For your sake I hope they optimised the code and hardware since then.

Yeah, a lot of changes have been made to the device and the spec since then so it should look pretty good. There's an objective three part review of it by Eldar Murtazin on Mobile review.
I expect that by now, with the debug code taken out, it will be quite zippy, as infoSync described the 7650 (though the P800 is a different beast altogether and far outstrips the 7650 in terms of features, functionality and fun). There's a video here of the P800 running the Opera browser.
And yes, it does have bluetooth, full bluetooth as well, unlike the 7650 (though the 3650 will have this also).
