Default V2R Part II: Caller2Picture

http://www.handango.com/PlatformProductDetail.jsp?siteId=311&platformId=2&productType=2&catalog=0&sectionId=0&productId=45019

How many times have you gotten a phone call on your brand new XDA, seen the displayed phone number of the caller, and wondered just who the HECK that person is? Well, Vision2Reality (V2R) has a solution for you!

V2R has created Caller2Picture, the next generation of "caller ID." This application allows you to link the phone numbers in your Contacts database to photos (or any other picture), so that when your XDA rings, the photo of the caller automatically appears.

Some other features are:

Ability to link a separate picture for each separate phone number for a contact
Support for BMP and JPG photos
Supports storing photos on internal memory or storage card(s)

You can download a free demo version of Caller2Picture or purchase the full version for only $9.95 from Handango!.

I kinda think that if you know the person well enough to take the time to upload a picture, you might even recognize the number

i have a t68i, it's been sitting on my shelf gathering dust since i got a pocket pc phone. you really can't compare the 2, but i'll try...

in every way, it's soooo much better. my pocket pc phone:

-mp3 player.
-video player.
-rich games.
-real internet.
-web browsing.
-pop mail (yah you can do that on the t68, but not really well- but it's just a phone).
-battery life is a little better on ppc phone and it get better signal for me, but that varies.
-msn messenger (i live and die by that).
-it syncs with my desktop in an easier way than the t68.

but--

-pocket pc phone can't use a cam (yet) but i pop my sd card in from my cam and mail them.
-pocket pc phone can't be a modem for my laptop.

later on, compare the smartphone and t68, that's more balanced...

t68 is a great phone, but i really found my device.

cheers,
pt

from what i recall you can't, and it's pretty hard to get images on the phone for most users (at least it was from my pals).

really? why's that? great applications from cool companies like vr2 wouldn't exisit if microsoft "did it all".

i think it's important, but not that important for version one of a product.
