ViewSonic V35 from Amazon - $249 and free shipping
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00006RSK5/jasondunn-20
Amazon is now taking pre-orders on the ViewSonic V35 Pocket PC (affiliate link) for only $249 with no shipping charges if you pick the super-saver shipping option! This is $50 below the originally anticipated price of $299. This Pocket PC 2002 has a 300MHz X-Scale processor, is ultra-light weight at 4oz, 32MB ROM, 64MB RAM, full color transflective screen and a Secure Digital (SD) slot. You can get more details at ViewSonic's web site. ViewSonic has also committed to a folding keyboard and a travel kit. No shipping dates have been specified from Amazon on the V35 or ViewSonic on the accessories. Source: Foo Fighter.
I have no need for another Pocket PC, but at $249, it is so tempting.

Chris Pirillo told the Screensavers it had the best screen he had ever seen on a Pocket PC.... anybody here anything else about it? Hopefully they will have one at the Pocket PC Summit for me to check out.

Does it handle diagonals and multiple key presses?
What about the battery? 1400mA?

I believe it, but the audio quality is what concerns me. I'm dying to see some reviews. 8O

Good to know. I was very concerned this was a confusion issue over trans/reflective. If it is that good, it is transflective. I wonder if Chris has seen the 3900. Could it be better than that? I don't see how. My eyes wouldn't be good enough to see anything better than the 3900's screen anyway.

Dell's impact, again
I have to believe that this great price is because Dell is rumored to be offering something very similar to this unit (if not better) for $199. Prices for the Toshiba e740 have been dropping faster than (fill in blank) and I think that this can also be attributed to leaked information on Dell's future product offerings.
I just recently sold my Ipaq 3765 for $250, $150 less than I paid for it a year ago, and I felt very good to find a buyer at that price. I am eagerly waiting for Dell's products to finally be shipped. The future appears bright for qued up PocketPC buyers. 8)

Anyone knows when [if] it'll be available in Europe ?
Off course about 50% more expensive, as always.

Was Viewsonic supposed to be making 2 models or was I confusing it with Dell? I only see 1 on the web site.
