Toshiba e740 Pocket PC for $369
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0000658CE/jasondunn-20
Toshiba has a fetish for price drops I think - only a few months ago this was, what, $599 I think? At $369 after rebates, this falls into the "smokin' deal" category - if you've been waiting for the "high end" Pocket PCs to come down in price, this might be a good opportunity to make the jump. Affiliate link.
UPDATE: Either that price was a mistake, or the deal ended, because the price is back up to $469.

Well, it's predictable that PDA market will follow PC market at the end. In the next few months, we will hear a lot of discounts/rebates for all brands if they want to keep or get more market share. Viewsonic started this with $299 device and then Dell will follow with $199 (incredible).
This is going to be a good holiday season for consumers but a night mare for manufacturers as their bottom line will not look good at all.

Decisions, decisions... :? Should I wait to replace my HP568 with one of the newcomers (HP 5000 or high end Dell) - or go for this Toshiba now? :?: I can't beieve these prices - either they are great for us consumers, or we have been grabbing our ankles for so long we don't know what a good deal looks like anymore ops: !!!
Either way - Christmas is shaping up nicely for all of us!

Ed. You are havinng WAYYYYY tooo much fun with the big font stuff
Second coming text they call it in the Newspaper world. The Dell deal is almost that big a story, though.
Interesting, that if they add the extra $50 Amazon gift certificate they gave out with e310s they are right down near the price of the high end Dell with virtually identical specs, but wireless and metal case added.

Personally, I am not as excited about Dell
Its great they are competing and will drive down peices but it is far from revolutionary. I am more interested in seing new ppc's not more versions of the existing model. but i recognize that veryone has different preferences.

It the prices are lowered for a basic pocket pc with all the trimming of a pocket pc of 500$ and offer for $300 then we could see greate pocket pc with new feature for $500. That's make sense because people are tired of paying overprice for pda (ipaq: $550-600$) when you can have the same functionnality and more for $300.

This device is a DOG! I would not recemend anybody buying this unit.
The sound is bearly loud enough for you to hear.
The quick launch buttons have a major bug (think don't work most of the time).
Unit locks up allot
The cradle is a very poor design (You have to push on the cradle to get the unit seated)
I bought one and returned it one week later.
