Default 128MB CF Card - $29 after rebate!

http://www.ecost.com/ecost/shop/detail.asp?DPNo=842591&adcampaign=email,ewb02849

Just $39 for the 128MB Kingston card and then $10 off with a mail in rebate. Good through Nov. 30, 2002. US and Canada. Thanks to donkthemagicllama for the link.

It's funny, I was going to sign up to be an eCost affiliate, but guess what their affiliate cut is? 1%. 8O Talk about thin margins!

I'm curious what is the average affiliate cut? If you don't mind sharing a secret with about a half a million people.

This seems WAY to good to be true. Has anyone purchased from these guys?

I was just in our local Best Buy over the weekend, and they had the cheapest price I have seen on 128's in a while. That was $100 cdn. At $30 us, these cards would only cost $45-50 cdn!? 8O That's half the price.

5% is about average I'd say. That's what Handango pays, Amazon (to a maximum of $10 per item), etc.

I think it makes sense. You can get a 512 MB card for $150 after rebate, so the "small" 128 MB cards just don't have as much value any more.

Heck, I snatched one up. I had promised my son that once I found a good price on a fairly large CF card he could have my old Jornada 548 for an MP3 player. His dream just came true.

I wouldn't recommend buying anything from ecost that exceeds a $100 value, unless it's something almost guaranteed not to have problems (like memory and things of that nature). In the scenario that something is wrong with your high priced item, well that's where ecost's 'we don't give a @#$%' return policy kicks in. So I would be careful.
