Default Toshiba shrinks bluetooth SD cards

http://www.pcworld.com/news/article/0,aid,105416,tk,dn092602X,00.asp

"Toshiba has announced a new version of its Bluetooth SDIO (Secure Digital I/O) card for portable digital consumer equipment such as personal digital assistants and digital still cameras that have an SDIO card slot." The specs are pretty impressive:

Half the power consumption of their previous version
Nearly 20% shorter at 40 millimeters by 24 millimeters by 2.1 millimeters
The thick dongle hanging out is virtually gone.

Thanks to Racer-X for the link.

I will ask here, I have a Toshiba e550G, is there SD slot SDIO? I have not seen any artivles saying yes or no to this. I want bluetooth but not let it take up my CF slot. Just curious!

Thanks,

Anyone know what BT chipset it uses, Toshiba's own creation? Just curious if there's any other good chipsets besides the CSR BlueCore v2 that everyone always talk about...

BTW, Buy.com finally got the D-Link DBT-120 USB Bluetooth adapter (lo-power) in stock and shipped one to me, the thing is SO small, I wish my keychain SanDisk Cruzer is this small so I don't have an embarrassing bulge in my pants all the time...

Here's the new one...

I'd post a link to the picture of the old one, but the Toshiba America website is programmed with a crummy "you can't deep link to our pages because everything is a cgi session" strategy.

They really are a great example of a website that goes far out of it's way to make inbound hyperlinks impossible.
