Motorola joins Windows CE on ARM
http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/3/27177.html
Motorola, STMicroelectronics and NeoMagic just joined the ARM Consortium for Windows CE. Together with companies such as Intel, Samsung, and Texas Instruments, they will work along with Microsoft "to facilitate compliance testing and certification procedures."
ARM has become the de facto processor standard for PDAs, and is found in all new Pocket PCs and will eventually find its way into other PDA platforms as well. I think it is quite interesting to note that Motorola joins an ARM initiative on the Windows CE side. (Source: PDA Gerbil)

As someone with a lowly orphaned Casio E-125 and its obsolete MIPS processor, I have a sudden understanding of and compassion for the many Betamax owners of the 80s. And my current finances will preclude upgrading for the foreseeable future.
Sigh... might have to stop reading this site... too much stuff I can't have!!
