Default The Promise Of Simpler Connections

http://www.2kdevelopment.com/dynamic/main.php?action=productsheet&id=22

If you use your digital handset as a modem for your Pocket PC and you happen to live in Austria, Germany, the Czech Republic, Italy or Switzerland, here's a tool that may simplify connecting to the 'Net. Connect2Internet from 2K Development promises to help configure your connection parameters and then allows you to launch them with a single tap.

"[Tapping] on the connect button starts the automatic detection of your mobile phone, the network operator and the supported services (like GPRS, HSCSD,...). Then the best possible connection is automatically established. When you switch to a new operator or buy a new mobile phone the software will automatically detect this and change the settings for seamless connection."

I've not been able to try this, but if it works, it sure could save lot of keystrokes. Unfortunately, the list of supported devices and wireless carriers is still fairly small:

You know, that IS distracting. Maybe I'll crop it so it doesn't take up as much space...

Default secret?

What is so secret about the rest of the Today Screen plug-ins or was it to call attention to that one plug-in?

I'd say it was to attract attention.

If you stare at it long enough, it looks like it's shaking.

This was the screen shot offered by the developer. I assumed the blurring was just to provide "focus" [ha, ha] on the one add-in.

More importantly than tangential discussions about their screenshot )) - if you check on their site, they're asking for people to help provide info for other networks and countries in return for a free copy of the software.

Email link is about half way down - they send you a form to complete.

mailto:[email protected]?subject=Get c2i for free request

There's also an integrated SMS app!!
