Default Never link to someone's images without their permission

http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2052699485

This is pretty funny. Someone is selling a motherboard and apparently linked images from http://www.2cpu.com/ to their auction at eBay. 2cpu.com found out about it and switched the images.

I've included the rest of the screenshots in the thread just in case the auctioner figures this out and removes the links. <!>

Just curious...didn't I see this earlier today, for about 3 minutes?

Was it pulled for any particular reason? If so, why is it OK now?

Inquiring minds want to know....

Whatever you do, don't ever link to any images hosted on www.somethingawful.com. Lowtax has an, ahem, unique way of handling such situations...

Someone once tired to pass off one of www.tech-report.com articles as their own. They even linked the images straight off tech-report's servers. Tech report hit back with the pictures of the kid (Damage Jr. at the bottom of this pic) http://www.tech-report.com/store/

(I can't seem to find the original article about it - but it was the same idea - lots of funny pics linked to the rip-off merchants.)

All the publicity will probably help his auction.
