Default Search engine optimized for Pocket PCs

http://www.ppcw.net/stories.php?story=02/09/01/5556869

My good friend Arne Hess at PPCW.net, where Pocket PC meets Wireless has found a search engine called All The Web which has a mobile version that not only works great on your Pocket PC, it returns results with sites that work great on your Pocket PC. Check out his mini-review.

Actually, www.google.com/palm is better. I know the IE is a color version but that is really for a desktop IE search bar. The /palm link will optimize the search results with PDA specific images and links. However, the http://mobile.alltheweb.com site is much better. I'll keep the Google/palm link on my PDA, but my main search will be AllTheWeb.

However AlltheWeb.com and Google are in a heavy competition as AlltheWeb.com claims for itself to have more indexed pages available than Google. So your should be able to get all possible results anyway.
Bah. Indexed pages mean nothing if you can't find them. This is where Google beats the rest.

This mobile version sounds cool though.

AllTheWeb.com's image search is much better for finding porn.

According to Search Engine Watch, Google appears to have the most pages indexed, bar none (based on testing of various queries).

The mobile pages on AllTheWeb are nice, but, frankly, I'd rather search the entire internet. Google also offers a very nice WAP/i-mode search.

I know that http://www.google.com/ie is meant as an IE explorer bar search, but it also happens to work on the Pocket PC.

When I tried out AllTheWeb for myself, I found out that many of the pages it returned were not optimized for PocketPCs. It was kind of hit-or-miss.

I'd be interested in knowing what wireless plan you have, if its fast enough and cheap enough to download porn

Not that I'd use it for that...

I wouldn't!

REALLY!

OK, stop looking at me that way.

Hi, Ed I have a question for you:

What is the app that your're running on the top bar there?
The picture shows Internet explorer, but there's something like an x and some lines...

Just curious... :?:
