They offer the wda SIM lock free for Singapore$ 1541.75, which translates into US$ 883 or � 898. It's not exactly cheap, but for a unit that is available for a subsidized price of US$ 600 (incl. VAT) with a Vodafone contract, that was not to be expected. Remember that the wda is GSM 900 / 1800 Dual Band, so make sure your country supports that before ordering one!

I live in the UK and I wouldn't buy it for free. Why? Because it won't work in the US. I won't buy another phone (or PDA phone) that isn't tri-band and Bluetooth enabled.

I'm really hoping for a useful miracle next summer in the form of a tri-band, BT-enabled IPAQ in the same form factor as the current ones (so it'll accept the jackets), with the next generation Pocket PC OS and at least 64MB of RAM.

Do you think I'm asking too much? 8)
