Default Update for iPAQ Wireless Pack for GSM/GPRS Networks

http://www.compaq.com/support/files/handheldiPAQ/us/download/15348.html

Andrew "Master O'Mayhem" Farkas found that Compaq has released a SoftPaq for the Wireless GSM/GPRS jacket. This will update the GSM/GPRS Networks Software (to version 776) and Firmware (to version 1.04_063) in your Wireless Pack. For the fixes and enhancements see below.

UPDATE: Arne Hess has posted a comment showing that there might be some problems with this update. I'd advise you to read this thread and Arne's comments before doing the upgrade!

<!>

Fixes
- Corrects GPRS connections with server assigned DNS numbers.
- Corrects the on-screen incoming call indicator.
- Corrects the ability to select the vibrator indicator.
- Corrects the issue where the H3900 Bluetooth icon disappeared when the Wireless Pack was inserted

Enhancements
- Supports some USSD codes such as (*100#) in the user interface.
- Sets the EFR mode as the default.
- Now displays certain carrier names properly.
- Allows the keyboard lock to be unlocked from anywhere on the screen.
- Adds an indicator to show whether the Wireless Pack is in manual or automatic mode.
- Adds a confirmation window before an emergency call is dialed.
- Improves general software performance.

But you might be careful if you are updating the Wireless Jacket as you can see in this thread from Sunday on PPCW.Net:http://www.ppcw.net/stories.php?stor.../08/11/9581297
I've got it confirmed by Compaq that there might be some problems with the update.
If you also get the that error, please inform me at [email protected] cause I'm collecting all fault upgrades and send that directly to the wireless center of HP (former Compaq).

So far it looks like one guy is having problems, yes he has posted the same problem in a lot of locations, but still it's one person. And HpCompaq is saying that there might be problems? Just what is confirmed?

Funny the response HpCompaq is giving this verus the 3800 in general.

I got the feedback from Compaq that it is not only one person! Don't forgett that not every Pocket PC owner is a geek who is surfing the PPC related web sites or use newsgroups!
That's why I've posted that warning!
