Default Pocket PC Phone Edition Etiquette

http://www.pocketpcmagic.com/etiquette/

Where Nokia ringtones might annoy your surroundings, the boombastic sound of a Phone Edition could shock their world. Happily Miss Mobile Manners has published her etiquette rules on how to go out and enjoy your Phone Edition, and still remain a good citizen. Miss Manners is very up-to-date, as the linked page is formatted for good viewing on a Pocket PC screen. Now there is an example of good manners!

"Location, location, location. A good citizen never uses their Pocket PC Phone in theaters, museums, houses of worship or libraries, unless they're doing email and instant messaging. A citizen should however use their Pocket PC Phone Edition at technology conferences and around the office or in large crowds. A citizen with an advanced phone like the Pocket PC Phone Edition should show it off as much as possible, the more a citizen shows it, the more popular they will become and the more friends they will have."

Default Where's Robin?

Frank McPherson's photoshoot at the Pocket PC Summit in Philadelphia, as found through his Pocket PC weblog pictures one of our friends, Dale Coffing, and utility belt.

I have this feeling Miss Mobile Manners used Dale as an example for one of her etiquette rules, called "You're not Batman". "A good citizen resists the temptation to wear the Pocket PC Phone Edition on their belt and / or inside a fanny pack. No matter whom you are, clipping devices to you belt or wearing a fanny pack isn't cool. Remember, fanny packs = bad! European carry-alls (a.k.a man bags) = cool."

Just kidding of course, in situations where you gotta demo cool stuff (like Dale is fortunate enough to do a lot) having easy access to that stuff beats looking cool. But when I saw this picture after I posted the above thought, I immediately thought about Miss Manners .

Ditto - and about every 2-3 weeks someone ask what I am "playing with."

And Ms Manners has it wrong - a man-purse is not cool. And yes... I am Batman!

Default But, Ed!

But Ed, a man-bag (this is what Jason calls it, really) is cool if you are in New York City. But it's very important that it be a cool man-bag. I guess I need advice from Miss Mobile Manners on finding and selecting a cool man-bag. I always have cheap man-bags from one of those office supply superstore places.

I kinda like the Incase Moya Deluxe as a PDA carrying tool (watch this site for a review soon), but I'm still not 100% confident wearing it.

I can assure you that if it is really called a man bag, you'll never see me carrying one. Heck, even Seinfeld admitted it was a purse.
