Default T-Mobile Germany sells MDA

http://www.t-mobile.de/shop/1,1800,1079-_2841-1,00.html

Through the linked page you can order the MDA from T-Mobile Germany. With T-Mobile the prices of the MDA will range from 899,95 without a contract, down to 599,95 with a contract. What's the MDA you ask? It's the German version of the O2 / HTC XDA.

Or is it? Although internally it is the same unit, the T-Mobile MDA looks a bit different from the XDA. Marc Zimmermann has them nicely next to each other on his website, where it will be easier to spot the differences. Source: Marc Zimmermann.

Well the review appears to have been pulled though the picture is still up. There's now only the message:

"HTC PW10A1
Sold as...
T-Mobile MDA
o2 xda

This review had to be temporarily pulled due to a news embargo by o2 and it will be back in early August.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

That's why I didn't point you to the review, but to the pictures....

I'll put it back up in a couple of hours... I'm at work right now and have the files on my home PC ;-)

I already submitted this to the news bin, but I'll post here as well.

Walt Mossberg from the Wall Street Journal posted a review of the T-Mobile in his weekly column. Apparently he didn't think very highly of it:

It's a pretty subjective review. He just doesn't like it.

Ha! Yeah, he is juuuuust a little PalmOS biased, I think. He also favors Apple systems.

Still, I respect Walt's opinion, even when I don't agree with it.

Funny how Walt fails to compare the two operating systems.

Funny how Walt fails to mention that the Treo's OS is already out of date and will be seriously dated come September when Palm's OS 5, comes out.

The Treo is a fine alternative to the Blackberry. The T-Mobile device is in a different class all together.

Ask Walk can he connect to his home or office computer with his Treo to retreive files.

Ask Walt which device is closer to a laptop. Certainly not the Treo - It was not designed to what a laptop can do. The T-Mobile device is closer to a laptop - It WAS designed to what a laptop can do.

TELL Walt to stop comparing apples and oranges.

I received my Pocket PC Phone from T-Mobile a couple of hours ago. It looks like the O2 XDA (device on the right-hand side) pictured on Marc's web page, only it has a gold/bronze tint to it (very cool).

So far, I am very pleased with what i've seen so far. Its charging right now, so I will have to wait a few more hours before I can start playing with it.
