Be Nothing, If Not Flexible

Here's an interesting article that talks about some new advances being made in the development of light-emitting polymer (LEP) screens.

These screens are small, light and very flexible and have a number of potential applications, ranging from TVs to billboards, to, yes, PDAs. This technology would make it possible for a video display screen to be mounted to a contoured surface and/or rolled up for easy carrying and storage. Wouldn't it be great to be able to carry around a full-size external video monitor in a package no larger than the Pocket PC it attaches to?
Don't get your hopes up too high, though. Analysts don't expect these screens to be widely available until 2004 or 2005.

Either that person has a small wrist or that watch looks even bigger then the Fossil PDA watch. Oh well, it has TV on it, I think I will forgive them

At the very least, this could have some implications for making screens more durable. If some of this technology were used for regular PDA screens, it might make them much less susceptible to breakage from too much pressure or other trauma.
