Default Easily resize images to use on your Pocket PC

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp

There is a Windows XP Power Toy called Image Resizer that works pretty well - especially if you don't have a graphics program installed that can resize for you. Simply right-click on an image, select "Resize Pictures." A Pocket PC is 240X320, but to get the image to show up completely, especially if you are resizing it for the Theme Generator for Pocket PC 2002, you need to use an image size of 241X290. That will ensure the image works with all Start Menu sizes while minimizing the amount cut off by the lower task bar on the Today Screen. Source: pt

What's really good about this feature is it's ability to easily convert multiple pictures.

If you have a digital camera and like to keep pictures on your PPC to show to people, you can select a whole bunch of pictures and tell it to copy them and resize them. This leaves you with pictures that are considerably smaller in byte size than what comes out of most camera's.

Default Smaller, not Larger?

OK, I just didn't get it!

I've download and installed it at work and will find it extremely useful, but I just don't get the, "make pictures smaller not larger."

Can someone translate this for an old dummy?

You can just ignore the advanced options and select HANDHELD PC - no fuss, no muss. But if you want to know what this means, the option just says "If I have an image that is only 100 x 100, don't make it 640 x 480 - only make images bigger than 640 x 480 smaller".

My personal preference is Ulead SmartSaver Pro (www.ulead.com) - it's not free, but it absolutely rocks in batch mode.
