Stress test please
Ok, we think we've fixed the problem. Turns out the DNS server that our server was pointed at had died, and it was timing out on the lookup, then falling back to the next one that worked. So it wasn't really a server problem at all, just a DNS issue. I think everything should be back up to speed now, but please respond to this thread and tell me how the speed is for you. If you were looking for a good way to drive up your post count, this is it. Hammer the site! I'll lock it down after a few hours though, so start posting...
UPDATE: Well, you guys certainly got the hang of posting rapidly! The thread is now locked, and you'll be forced to contribute something of value to the site in order to get that post count up.

Scratch that. They are working now. Looks like your DNS fix also fixed the sending out of notifications.

Yeah, but I don't even own a PocketPC, although Circuit City are selling the Tosh e740 for $539.99 so I might own one by the end of the day. |
